Spring at the Edge : ZaniLa Rhyme

A valley of flowers up the hills,
spreads fragrance all over.
Butterflies and bees, flying with ease,
on the herbs of thyme and clover.

As winter starts to wrap,
mist flows back to clouds,
flying with ease, butterflies and bees,
green meadows unfurl their shrouds.

Days turning cozy and bright
sun smiling, rays twinkling,
butterflies and bees, flying with ease,
golden dust all over sprinkling.

Spring at the edge, sings a tender song,
melodies scatter beyond,
flying with ease, butterflies and bees,
in a rhythmic tune dance lakes and pond.

The ZaniLa Rhyme :  Created by Laura Lamarca, and consists of at least 3, 4 line stanzas. The rhyme scheme is abcb and a syllable count  9/7/9/9 per stanza. Line 3 contains internal rhyme ,requires minimum of 3 stanzas .

You have really whetted my appetite for spring, Vandana. I love all the signs of spring you have described so well in this poem. I am waiting for the days to turn cozy and bright.

wow....you nailed it. I always want to try my hand at these repeating things...but I never seem to find the time to devote to it.

These is a supercool form, with the line reversal, which I've never see before. Thanks for the sweet poem showing it. K.

As so many endure the seemingly never ending Winter, how lovely to covet thoughts of the Spring to come. The form does look interesting, but complex; perhaps we will find it one day as a prompt at dVerse.

What a fun rhyme scheme. I picked up the rhythm and how it just helps the poem to flow, to dance really.

Beautifully crafted and it seems effortless in its flow

This is an interesting form, Vandana. And full of images of spring which we in the northern hemisphere are only too eager for. Lovely. We saw some fat sluggish bees just coming awake today - yikes. It's early, for bees.

Oh! Very nice visual treatment there - love the effect of winter being pushed away, the advent of spring.
