For My Lord

Oh! Dear Lord
you are my refuge in the storm,
a balm for my emotions that are torn,
amidst the deep wilderness,
your sweet cuckoo voice,
beckons me with tenderness,
your divinity is my venerable temple,
it fills my soul with happiness so ample.

God Is Everywhere

AUM
He shines in the morning dew,
resides in the scenic views.

He whispers among the flowers,
he is the dream, in dream- jars.

He drips through the rain,
slides down our cheeks, as tears of pain.

God is unseen,
but, we can feel him,
with a heart full of sympathy
and a life full of empathy.

God is “AUM”,
the essence of the universe.

Aum () embodies the essence of the entire universe and is the most sacred symbol in Hinduisim. It is the root of the universe and everything that exists.

A Prayer To My Lord

Oh! Lord Shiva,

Reside within my soul,
for every season,
be it spring or fall.

Guide me through life’s trail,
hold my hand,
never let go, when I fail.

Enlighten me with your glow,
purify me whole,
and
in the end,
let my spirit towards you  flow.

Surrender

You are ~
the mesmerising fragrance of an enchanting spring,
the warm breath of assurance in freezing winter chill.

No citadel or silk wall, no garden or waterfall,
can ever bind a meditating heart drowned in love.
Be it Jasmine, rose, daisy or lavender,
nothing can match the pure love in its splendour.

Let us dissolve into each other,
and all over together rediscover,
the meaning of life, pain, love and suffering,
and how a few words are so comforting.

Let there be no you or me,
but only one - “we”.
We are now, in unison,
our energies merging within,
the cosmos.

"Om Namah Shivayae"

Mighty mystic Himalayas,
a great revered Shivalaya.
Lord Shiva’s holy grace,
flows as rivers all over the space.
Rhythm of Lord Shiva’s drum,
every valley sweetly hums.
Lord’s name engraved as “OM”,
sanctifies agni, jal, vayu and vyom.
Tandav ,when Nataraj performs,
whole universe reforms.
You control the tides - high or low,
Oh! Lord Shiva to thee I bow.

"Om Namah Shivayae" – The holy mantra of Lord Shiva.
Shivalaya”– Temple of Lord Shiva .
“Agni” – Fire, “Jal” – Water, “Vayu” – Air, “Vyom” – Space/ Sky.
“Tandav”- Mythical dance performed by Lord Shiva that can destroy the universe.
“Nataraj” – Another name of Lord Shiva, when he performs Tandav.

Song Of A Jogin

Far across the sky,
among meandering waves of Akaash- Ganga,
a “jogin” sings the song of night.

Drenched from tip to toe,
with devotion to the great Yogi : “Shiva”,
she hums the song of night.

White serene Mount Kailash,
exudes peace of the flowers,
resonates with jogin’s song of night.

As dawn breaks,
sun shines,
jogin opens her eyes,
and finds the great yogi,
standing right behind.

This poem depicts the love and eternal devotion of Maa  Parvati to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva was impressed with her true devotion and made Parvati his wife.

Jogin : A female devotee totally devoted to god and has nothing to do with the world and its affairs.

Akash- Ganga : The Milky Way Galaxy.

Mount Kailash  :  Abode of Lord Shiva

His Grace

Everywhere,
Lord Shiva
on earth, in air,
flows
his grace.

He knows of
our tears, our pains,
for it is,
his grace.

His heart
resides in us,
knowing our rhythms, by,
his grace.

God’s watchful eyes,
watch from above.
Showering eternal love,
his grace.

Solace

I yearn for
solace
for a calmer
pace
a small patch in Lord Shiva’s
space.

Oh! Lord Shiva to thee
I pray.

Away from the cruel
world
to be free like a
bird
far away from maddening
herd.

Oh! Lord Shiva to thee
I pray.

Lord, at your feet I
lay
lead me towards your
way
allow me to be with you for all my
days.

Oh! Lord Shiva to thee
I pray.

Ancient Tree

http://www.khedekars.com/
Oh! mighty “Peepal” tree,
none is as wise as thee.

Since, ages you have given -
enlightenment, wisdom and vision.

Your one pious touch,
can heal a heart, hurt so much.

The amaranthine blessings you shower,
give life an unending power.

Saints meditate beneath your shade,
gaining strength to wade.

King of trees you are,
like the pole star, among all stars.

We bow to thee,
Oh! mighty “Peepal” tree.

Ficus religiosa is called “Peepal” in Hindi language. It is a sacred tree in Hinduism and is worshipped all over India.

God

The sun peeps through the hill,
And then goes away the chill.
By whose will this happens?
Not mine not yours.
The one and the only and that is God.

The wind is blowing,
The water is flowing.
By whose will this happens?
Not mine not yours
The one and the only and that is God.

The snakes are hissing,
The rabbits are burrowing.
By whose will this happens?
Not mine not yours.
The one and the only and that is God.
