Oh! Death I Praise Thee : Kyrielle

Life  is fragile and faint,

engrossed in emotions all vain,

only one thing is perfect,

and it is called the death.

A companion to the core,

it’ll never leave you alone,

loyal at your last breath,

and it is called the death.

A salvation from this world,

towards the cosmic underworld,

where every soul collects,

and it is called the death.

Of Moonlit Night: Constanza

      At night when moon slides downhill,

she becomes the enchanted earth,

many emotions then unearth.

Savouring balmy glowing chill,

jasmine blooms lose themselves,

heavenly spell, in moon’s well.

Glens and glades, silent and still,

foggy hills, touch the stars,

a deception ,a mirage.

Pollen shower all over spills,

a shadow beneath drenched in tears,

lost in, mysterious fears.

Earth gazes through daffodils

dawn breaks, the white orb dissolves,

in a moment ,earth’s love lost.

The Wolf - Girl

Pale moon magic strong,

night seems dark and long,

when the forest sleeps,

her heart weeps.

Her howl, mountains can hear,

soft morning-dew drops are her tears,

her paw-prints left on snow,

roam aimlessly not knowing where to go.

Echoing through the white wilds,

her mourning song glides,

calling for her love, who was lost,

memories haunt her like ghosts.

Every night, the dead silence breaks,

cracking frozen ground and lakes,

the wolf - girl cries,

besides the grave, where her lover lies.

Dandelions: Sijo

Dandelion emotions watching ever shiny sun,

dream of catching that can’t be caught, but only seen and felt,

the ardour warmth from far soothes their embrace, deliquescing cold wave.

Dandelions whisper to themselves of radiating sunrays,

flickering, hovering, dancing as they spread over them,

blooms of dandelions gazing at the sun, to taste its essence.

Bright morning sunshine love dangling above, peeping coyly,

heaven rejoices, clouds sing, for they have their love of life,

dandelion seeds carrying their hearts, fly far to touch the sun.

Sijo : Korean poetry form, can have any number of stanzas Each having have three lines. Each line varies between 14 and 16 syllables. The first line  states a theme, the second line counters it, and the third line resolves the poem.

A Place Under The Sun

The glowing light of star,

comforting us in the darkest hour,

a piece of God's heart,

looking upon this earth.

Rays of orange hue,

sparkle our life’s views,

pure golden light,

burns with God's might.

Central part of the universe,

giving strength to us,

glowing with God's blessings.

A place under the sun,

a place within God’s urn,

is safe for everyone.

Winter Mist : Inverted Refrain

Fragile, smokey, winter mist,

scattering on to pine trees,

winter grains through summer sift,

on hills, valleys below spreading freeze:

                      Spreading freeze as summer sift,

                       winter mist on  pine trees.

From clouds it descends down,

gluing to every pine needle,

surroundings wear a white gown,

the chill sounds a bit feeble:

                             White gown descends down,

                              softly on to pine needles.

Summer colours fade away,

into rivulets they wash afar,

now, a grey slate lay,

sprinkling icy crystal stars:

                                Rivulets take colours away,

                                from the sky fall as stars.

A misty cap covers the forest,

milky way over the paths,

a beautiful heavenly adornment,

different ways it charts:

                          Milky way on paths and forest,

                          decorates the divine art.

Global Warming : Ninette

The Ninette is a form that uses nine lines. Each line increases by one syllable until the middle line, (five syllables) after which the syllable count in the lines following goes back down from four to one. The first and last words of this poem can be 1) the same 2) antonyms or 3) synonyms.
