Sweet Death : Tanka

Black fine robe she wears,
gives solace to my spirit,
her magic – charming,
a soul catcher from afar,
walks along with the shadow.

Her peaceful aura,
expands beyond time and space,
waiting patiently,
to finish our agonies,
and fly to a new empire.

I call upon thee,
custodian of god’s gates,
hold me in your arms,
sing me a sweet lullaby,
and I will sleep in your embrace.

Tanka :  Japanese poetry having  five unrhymed lines  of 5, 7, 5, 7, 7 syllables

death where is your sting... if we know where we're going - it's easier to let go...

There would be great comfort to meet the grim reaper on the way out whether they be male of female. Just another adventure beginning.

There comes that moment when we welcome death as savior.. I think this approach to death is a healthy one,

Sometimes, death is a sweet companion, I believe, and comes at the right time to be very welcome. I think it was for my 21 year old cat who lived to be 126 years old in human years and could no longer move her rear legs and hips so fragile they had become. Thank you, then, for this acknowledgement of death.

Not looking to forward to meeting that grim reaper...but the time will surely come!

As Haruki Murakami once said, death is not the opposite of life but a part of it.

It's always difficult to talk about death but I think one should accept that is indeed a part of life.

So wonderful to see a female death. Great expression of her being a comforter even in the end. Love it.

A far more comforting perspective than one that is usually taken.
