Winter : Balassi Stanza

Ivory paradise
charmingly entices.
Powdery crystalline dew,
spread all over on earth,
sips old life for new birth,
replacing those who once grew.
Achromatic painting,
by nature, for changing.
Life celebrates and renews.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eternal emotions,
life’s essential potions
   buried in isolation.
Waiting for warm feelings,
yearning peaceful healing,
needing love’s insulation.
Tucked in ice, perfect,
nothing can thaw except,
angelic adoration.
it is a wonderful promise that life renews eh? they say it will snow here tomorrow...i love the hush that snow brings...and the freshness of all in white....
"Eternal emotions, life’s essential potions, buried in isolation". So true. Isolation is like being buried, and in such a state, eventually, all things wither and die. Only in a life, well lived, is there renewal. Enjoyed this, Vandana.
I think the color being drained is like a canvas to be repainted... :-)
Ah - the second stanza, and the yearning for love, has a nice universality.
How tenacious can it hold on. Thawing it takes a bother. If only one can get close easier than what it is, it might be of help! Great word craft Vandana!
'Achromatic painting' - this is such an evocative image. Winter often feels that way.
Love the 'ivory' interpretation of winter in your poem x
I love the idea of an "ivory paradise".....and the emotions being thawed by "angelic adoration".
Very pretty. The words are very lyrical in the first stanza.
A lovely poem of life, rebirth and love. Amazing how many different angles we can look at those things even buried in snow there is a beauty in the waiting...
