Oh!
Great Saints,
my
mind hurts in vain,
heal
my soul,
relieve
me from this pain,
and the
questions unanswered…………….
We dance to the universal rhythms,
the cosmic vibrations we unknowingly follow,
thinking of them as our great endeavours.
Everything is set,
the pattern, the path, the words,
we merely step on them,
and consider as our chosen world.
Call it hard work, luck or destiny,
we fail, we rise, we do what we do,
and name it our will.
But, who is pulling the strings?
Who is the master puppeteer?
The
one with the trident?
Or
Our
mind’s own fallacies?
{Note: In Hinduism, God Shiva holds
Trident.}

"Everything is set,
the pattern, the path, the words,
we merely step on them,".....So true.
I like these lines of yours:
Call it hard work, luck or destiny,
we fail, we rise, we do what we do,
and name it our will.
Yes, we each have our own to make it in this temporary world. thanks for the poem! Happy All Saints!
"Call it hard work, luck or destiny,
we fail, we rise, we do what we do,
and name it our will."
It seems the powers that be want us to proceed as if we have free will. How wonderful that we can choose to be on the path ordained! I love this poem.
I have a problem feeling it is all pre-ordained. I think our lives are all about choices. I guess it's an eternal question.
Interesting. I always struggle with this thought. If we do not have free will and our choices mean nothing, but to follow a path already laid -- what is the point of life? If we choose to do nothing is that already part of the plan?
Ah, I do wonder sometimes if 'everything is set' or if we can choose our own destiny. I choose to believe we have a lot of choices, but there is a God who is looking down on us all.
I love your perspective on this prompt. Very well said.
Very thought-provoking, Vandana. I do think there is a general plan, but that we are offered many choices and routes to fulfil our destiny.......the choices me make have so much to do with whether we succeed, in part or in whole.
Thought provoking indeed. Wonderful writing Vandana!
There are days when I think it's all someone else's plan, but others when I know my choices make a difference,
Elizabeth
We do indeed dance to universal rhythms.....not so sure about everything is set!
Our faith can help us overcome the hardest situations and I believe that faith overcomes our most difficult quandaries as your poem shows, Vandana.
