Underneath the percolating rain drops in sand, beneath the dew drops rolling down the leaf blades, among the playful waves of roaring oceans, there’s a deep silence, only heard by a heart calm within : Vandana Sharma

Whales do have sorrowful melodies.. rarely anyone ever hears.. beautiful poem Vandana xox ♡
How sad. But 'underwater' sounds, whales, as dolphins, unsettle something in me...
Enjoyed this. Kind of you to share.
Song of the lonely whale is apt even for others in similar situations. Loneliness is often imposed rather than of choice.

He does sound lonely. Whalesong is so haunting and beautiful. Lovely poem, Vandana.
The whale sings a sad song.
You have given us a very meaningful tribute to a wonderful creature. Thank You.
Yours is a beautiful voice, Vandana. Kudos.

We went on a whale watching trip a few years ago. Scientists are able to track each whale through their tail fins, which have a unique pattern. Through photographs taken at the turn of the century they had identified whales that were still swimming the same waters over a century later - in other words, whales that were swimming the ocean before WW I, before the Russian Revolution, before the WW II and the atomic bomb, etc. - were still alive, having lived through all that human history. I found it to be very moving ... really a privilege to spend a few hours with these magnificent mammals. Thanks for this!
